Natasha was a final-year microbiology student passionates about pathogen and environmental microbiology. She did her final year project on quantitative analysis of the cbbLR gene and microbial diversity containing the cbbLR gene at different soil depths in mangrove sediment. Her research was to understand how microbial communities contribute to carbon fixation in mangrove ecosystems. Her research findings may help in mangrove conservation efforts by providing insights into the microbial processes that support these vital ecosystems. Moving forward, she hopes to pursue further research in environmental microbiology, focusing on microbial roles in ecosystem restoration and climate change mitigation.
Outside the lab, she loves cafe hunting and exploring new places. She enjoys visiting different cafes, trying unique coffee blends and experiencing the atmosphere each cafe has to offer. Besides that, she also enjoys traveling, whether in the city or in nature, as it broadens her perspective and allows her to connect with science and nature.
